The 2020 census and all corresponding educational demographic surveys demonstrate that between Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), roughly 4% of the American population, including both children and adults, have IDD and/or Autism. If we include sensory disabilities and learning disabilities, and the number is north of 12%. Include parents of individuals with disabilities, and nearly 1/3 of your city is directly impacted by disabilities.
This means that 1/3 of your city's residents depend on inclusive design, disability programs, and access to employment, health care, transportation and many other resources to adequately access the community.
We will engage with your residents, families, and staff and facilitate information gathering and discovery, yielding a better understanding of what services they need and what your city currently has to offer.
Based on our findings, we will build a plan around improving your city's inclusivity across all sectors. This includes bringing best-practice disability organizations from across the table to your city.
We will facilitate the work and bring in key partnerships and organizations, reimagine city policy and programs, and certify you as a UnifIDD City.
Our first Cohort is currently rounding out its participants, with Plano, Texas committed as our first UnifIDD City, and other cities actively reviewing the program.
