North Texas disability ecosystem analysis

The Rees-Jones Foundation and ConnectIDD are partnering to conduct a region-wide survey to better understand the realities facing disability-serving organizations in North Texas. By sharing your experiences, you’ll help ensure that philanthropy can respond more effectively to the true needs of our community.  

• It is region-wide: covering Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, and six other surrounding counties.
• It includes all areas of disability: intellectual, developmental, physical, sensory, mental health, aging, and beyond.
• It focuses on the internal struggles of organizations: staffing, funding, operations, governance, and sustainability.
   

By participating, you are helping shape how philanthropy understands and responds to the disability community’s needs.

This survey was carefully designed through a multi-step process:

1. Database Creation – Identifying nearly 400 disability-serving organizations across the region.
2. Listening Sessions – Conducting in-depth conversations with 20 diverse organizations representing different disabilities, services, and perspectives.
3. Survey Development – Using what we learned to build this comprehensive tool, now open to all organizations.
    

The survey will take approximately 20–25 minutes to complete. We know your time is valuable, but the depth of the questions is intentional — ensuring the results reflect the full picture of what organizations are experiencing.

To honor your investment of time, one organization that completes the survey will be randomly selected to receive a $1,000 unrestricted donation. 

Once all responses are gathered and analyzed, ConnectIDD will compile a comprehensive report that highlights the immediate needs and concerns of the disability community. The findings will be shared back with all participating organizations, ensuring that every voice contributes to the broader understanding of the disability ecosystem in North Texas.
