Mandy is the Director of Programs for ConnectIDD, bringing over 15 years of professional experience serving children and adults with disabilities. Her diverse background includes work in public education, therapeutic environments, vocational rehabilitation, and day programming. Additionally, Mandy has provided direct support as a host home provider, respite caregiver, and in-home service provider. She has successfully designed and launched vocational training programs, achieving measurable results and building strong, cohesive teams defined by inclusion, support, and excellence.
Mandy holds a master's degree in organizational leadership and a bachelor's degree in psychology, with a minor in music reflecting her passion for vocal performance. Initially aiming to become a music teacher, Mandy’s internship in a primary school's Intensive Intervention classroom revealed a deeper calling. She quickly discovered a profound connection with children on the Autism spectrum, prompting introspection about her own experiences. At age 27, Mandy was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, level 1, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Her diagnoses provided valuable insights and personal strategies, enhancing her ability to design meaningful programs, advocate for individuals with Autism, and offer unique guidance to her teams.
Mandy resides in Plano with her wife, Alyssia, their two dogs—Luna, a black lab, and Georgia, an energetic American bulldog—and two cats named Whiskey and S’more. They enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly camping, fishing, and kayaking. Personally, Mandy is passionate about soccer, singing, musicals, and has notably developed an enthusiastic obsession with Hamilton.
